Italian Beef Sandwiches

Italian Beef Sandwiches

When we go to the cabin we all take turns preparing a meal.  We normally plan the same main dish every time because it is easy and we have never heard any complaints on it.  This is Luke's mom's recipe for Italian Beef Sandwiches.




  ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICHES
Mix & place into a crock pot:
1 boneless beef roast [3-4 lbs], cut across grain into large chunks
1+3/4 tsp. dried basil
1+1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1+1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1+1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 large onion, sliced & quartered
11 oz. jar pepperoncinis [remove stems] w/ juice [save some peppers to serve w/ sandwiches]
Cover & cook on low for 8-9 hours until meat is tender. Shred beef with 2 forks & mix back into the crockpot juices.  Serve on crusty rolls.

10-12 servings
