Birthday Party

Marcus' Fourth Birthday Party

Marcus is getting so big and this year for his birthday party he was highly involved in the planning process. He knew exactly what we he wanted and helped me pull it all together.  First came the theme for the party.  He actually had problems deciding between farm and puppies but in the end he picked farms!  We got the invitations out in plenty of time.  He invited all of his favorite people.  These are some of the highlight from the day.

The big three items of the party were:
Piñata
Bounce House
Cake

Marcus was very involved in planning for all of this.

Before this party Marcus didn't know a lot about piñata's but we started watching YouTube videos of people breaking piñata's and he got really excited about it.  We looked online and decided to go with the tractor piñata- after all you can never go wrong with John Deere!

Marcus especially liked filling the piñata with candy.

His other big wish was a bounce house----- Here is the funny story behind the bounce house.  Marcus is fascinated by bounce houses but they also really kind of scare him.  Normally, he walks around them and feels the outside but never actually goes in.  But he REALLY wanted one for his party.   We can up with an agreement and the week before his party they had a bounce house at daycare and we agreed if he bounced- he would get a bounce house.

He bounced for 10 seconds but a deal is a deal and he was so excited.

We went online and he picked out the "castle" bounce house.  They delivered it hours before the party and we were so excited that he got in and bounced (Mommy did too).

Marcus also helped plan the menu for the day.  We had corn on the cob, watermelon, and lots of other foods.  These are just some of Marcus' favorites.
Instead of toys we gave all of the people who
came really fun cookies.

Finally after all of the work and the planning it was PARTY TIME.

Bounce House Fun!

Cake

We got a super cute cake-  please ignore the mistake (they put 3 instead of 4 and had to fix it)

Piñata

We also had a piñata and it was so much fun but it took a lot longer to break than I expected.  Everyone got lots of hits at the tractor before it finally broke open.

 Gifts

Marcus got pretty much everything a little boy could possible want.  What a great day!

  1. After a event in New Ulm, MN Grandma Z and I made a mad dash to pick up Marcus's cousin Beckett Zachman in St Peter, MN then off to the big party for Marcus in Minnetonka. The bounce house was a big attraction as was the Pinata, the gifts, the food and the companionship. The John Deere Pinata was tough. I suggest next time use a Farmall or an Allis Chalmers. They may be a bit easier to bring down. Don't let Marcus's great-uncle Dave Zachman see this post. He will insist that a Farmall would be much stronger. HEE HEE The highlight of the day was Marcus blowing out the four candles and attempting to eat the largest piece of cake you ever saw. Marcus, Grandma and Grandpa Z love you and are proud of you.
